Professor Abdussalam is teaching Arabic Language and Linguistics at Department of Arabic, Faculty of Arts, University of Ilorin, since year 2013 and became professor in year 2019.He has worked with Nasarawa State University,

Keffi, (2010-2013 he has been at Alhikmah university, Ilorin and Federal University, Kashere, Gonbe State for sabbatical leave. He is member of senate of university of Ilorin and has been the senate representative at Admission committee and university secondary school, Governing Board. Professor Abdussalam has more than Fifty publications to his credit and he has attended conferences at local, national and international levels
