Dr Abubakar Abdullah Salaty, is indigenous to the sacred city of Ilorin, (Ilorin-west Local Government) Kwara State Nigeria. He was born in 1983 in Agege Local Government Area of Lagos State where he had his primary school education at District Primary School between 1988 and 1994. He attended to Anwarul Islam Model Secondary School, Agege and Moro Local Government Secondary School, Ipaye, Kwara State where he had his Certificate NECO in 2000. In 2006, he had his Diploma Certificate in Arabic, Islamic Studies and Yoruba from College of Arabic and Islamic Legal Studies CAILS, Adewole,
Ilorin.

Dr. Abubakar Abdullahi Salaty is a dedicated scholar and academic in the field of Arabic studies, with extensive experience in teaching, research, and community service. He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Arabic from the University of Ilorin, Nigeria in 2009 with CGPA of 4.41. During his undergraduate academic programme, he won the university scholarship award for three consecutive sessions and the overall best student in Arabic Studies during the 2009 convocation ceremonies. He then pursued Master and Ph.D. degrees in Arabic at same university in 2013 and 2020, respectively, with his thesis focusing on stylistic study in panegyric poems of Sheikh Muhammad Nasir Kabara.
He earned a Postgraduate Diploma in Education PGDE from the National Open University of Nigeria in 2015.

Dr. Salaty has an impressive record of scholarly publications. He has authored and co-authored over 17 peer-reviewed works, including journal articles and edited book chapters. His research spans Arabic Stylistics, Applied linguistics, Rhetorics, language criticism and literary studies. He has participated in several national and international conferences.

Dr. Salaty is affiliated with several professional organizations, including the International Association of Arabic Language Teachers, National Association of Teachers of Arabic and Islamic Studies (NATAIS), Academic society for Arabic language and literature in Nigeria (ASALLIN) Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU). Through these academic bodies, he contributes to the advancement of Arabic and Islamic scholarship in Nigeria.

Dr. Abubakar Abdullahi Salaty is recognized for his scholarly dedication, impactful teaching and meaningful community engagement. His work continues to enrich Arabic studies home and abroad, and his ongoing researches promise to offer valuable insights into Arabic stylistics and linguistic analysis.

He joined the services of the University of Ilorin in 2015 as an Administrative Officer and converted to Academic cadre in 2019 and presently, he is in the rank of Lecturer 1.

He teaches Arabic language in both undergraduate and postgraduate levels and supervises long essays and Master dissertations with passion and enthusiasm.

He speaks and writes in Arabic, English and Yoruba languages efficiently. Abubakar Abdullah Salaty is a teacher, researcher, mentor, poet, translator and cleric. He is married with children.

This will avail them the opportunity to gain the linguistic, economic, social, political and diplomatic values and these will indeed actualize the vision and mission of the university of Ilorin in her quest to meeting the international best practices. The knowledge will be of great benefit to students and enable learners to understand the power and influence of Arabic language in the development of a given society where its values and resources are effectively utilized.
