  • UIL-ARA 106:Course title: Introduction to Translation          2 Units: 30H (T) C   ‏Senate-approved relevance Graduates trained and equipped with translation skills, particularly with Arabic and English as working languages, are very relevant in this era of globalization. It is one of the effective tools of achieving University of Ilorin’s goal of being an international centre of excellence in teaching, research, and community services. Translation is necessary for the spreading of new information, knowledge, and ideas across the world. It is necessary to achieve effective communication between different cultures and that is why translation is a courier for the transmission of knowledge, a protector of cultural heritage, and essential to the development of both the national and global economy.

  • UIL-ARA 107:  Beginners’ Arabic Conversation I 2 Units: 30H (T) C     Senate-approved relevance Graduates trained and equipped with skills to read and converse in Arabic language will have the ability and opportunity to understand the forms and contents of Arabic language through conversation with construction of simple sentences with meaningful messages. This will avail them the opportunity to gain the linguistic, economic, social, political and diplomatic values and these will indeed actualize the vision and mission of the university of Ilorin in her quest to meeting the international best practices. The knowledge will be of great benefit to students and enable learners to understand the power and influence of Arabic language in the development of a given society where its values and resources are effectively utilized.
